From insurance concept to a bound policy
Aphelian Labs had a New York State grant and 18 months to bind its first solar insurance policy. Its customers, solar asset owners, needed insurance for the loans financing their farms.
Good Measure’s initial website engagement grew into a two-year partnership covering service design, startup advising, and underwriting software. We built the technology Aphelian used to bind its first policy within the deadline.
A workbench built around the product
We mapped the service and underwriting workflows, helping the team connect risk analysis, decisions, and carrier submissions. After several months spent trying to integrate overly complicated off-the-shelf tools, we helped Aphelian change direction.
We built a custom underwriting workbench in a month and integrated its risk engine through an API. The team gained a system tailored to its product and could move forward without continuing to work around software that didn’t fit.

From eight hours of preparation to five minutes
We automated initial risk scoring, analysis, and offer packet preparation, integrating AI into the packet workflow. Preparation that took more than eight hours per solar site fell to roughly five minutes.
Underwriters still reviewed the scoring and final packet before carrier submission. Our software removed the preparation bottleneck so they could focus on assessing results and reviewing offers, with less work required for each additional site.
